Rumors are circulating that mini-blogging site Twitter mat next
introduce its own video-hosting technology. This would apparently mean
that mobile users would be able to share video footage via their Twitter
apps rather than third party sites. Other hosting sites like yFrog,
TwitVid and Vodpod are currently the main ways mobile users upload. It
is believed that Twitter would like to give users an in-house option
although it still expects for many to share clips from YouTube, Hulu and
Vimeo.
This new technology may also take some of the drama out of
Twitter’s life. Currently, if one of third party sharing services screws
up people often complain directly to Twitter not realizing that they do not control those sites.
